Heavy metals monitoring in precipitation over forested areas in years 1995-2018.

Data set below is containing results of heavy metals monitoring in the precipitation and soil surface samples. Data were gathered between the years 1995 and 2018 on the test sites in Sichuan province (China).

Precipitation was measured with common instruments (associated with automatic weather stations) in the open field and under the canopy as a sum of throughfall and stemflow (= under-canopy precipitation is the difference between atmospheric precipitation amount and canopy interception).

Monitored fields were located on and around a hill, in a distance not exceeding 500 m one from another (Figure 1):

oOPN2 – highly consistent forest stand (80-90%), dominated by Chinese beech Fagus engleriana (米心水青冈) (age: 80-100 years, wood amount: 561.0 m3/ha, density: 394 trees/1ha), located in the top part of the hill.

oOPN5 – located several hundred meters lower in the part of the slope characterized by thermal inversion (cold and wet local climate), slope inclination 9o, very highly consistent forest stand (90%), dominated by Chinese beech Fagus engleriana (米心水青冈) (age: 80-100 years, wood amount: 492.9 m3/ha, density: 362 trees/1ha)

oBP – open field, non-cultivated grassland, located in the vicinity of forest stands, flat surface inclined 0-1o


Arrange the data from Tables 1 and 2 in a software suitable for you, performing calculations and statistical analyses, then prepare a report
