Fall 2025-MUS 400-Counterpoint and Fugue-Section A
Description
Compose a work for keyboard or for two lines (treble and bass). Key and meter are up to you. However, your piece must:
● Be in binary (simple or rounded) form. Modulate to either the dominant or the relative major (if in a minor key) by the end of the A section.
● Modulate back to the original tonic by the end of the B section.
● A and B sections should be symmetrical (i.e. have the same number of measures. 16-32 for the whole project is recommended).
● Use at least one instance of invertible counterpoint.
