Assessment Task
Your task for this assessment is to create an infographic based on a project scenario.
Please refer to the Instructions section for details on how to complete this task and information about
the scenario.
Note: Assessment 1 and 2 will be based on the same project scenario.
Context
Throughout this subject, you will explore trends and challenges related to workplace culture as well
as various approaches to promoting cohesive and positive work environments.
The purpose of this assessment is to develop your understanding of organisational culture and the
shared responsibilities of employees in supporting culture initiatives. Initiatives that reflect a
company s mission, vision and values are important as they frame the organisation s goals and
objectives. They also serve to shape and guide employee behaviour with the aim of developing a
positive work environment.

Integral to the success of culture initiatives is the communication of information to the people in the
organisation. Infographics are used to convey information in a format that is easy to read and
understand. This assessment provides the opportunity to practice and develop your visual
communication skills, a key employability skill.
Instructions
1. Project Scenario and associated documents
You are a newly employed graduate with a People and Culture team. Your project is to research
and analyse a People and Culture topic. Details of the topic are outlined in the Associated
Document.
The Associated Document is located with the Assessment 1 brief in the Briefs and Submissions section
of MyLearn. This document contains details of the project including the list of topics for Assessments
1 and 2.
2. Choose an initiative
Choose ONE initiative from those listed in the Associated Document (located in the Assessment 1
Briefs and Submissions in MyLearn.
3. Infographic
Your task is to create an infographic that represents your understanding of the key objectives and
goals of the chosen People and Culture initiative.
The purpose of the infographic is to provide a clear and visual representation of the initiative. Your
aim is to effectively communicate this information via a well-designed balance of text and graphics.
Refer to content in the weekly modules, including theories and frameworks, to develop your
responses to the following guiding questions:
a) Organisation background and purpose: Introduce the organisation including mission
statement, vision and values. Outline the organisation s commitment to developing it s
people and culture.
b) Objectives and goals: Outline the initiative with an emphasis on the objectives and goals.
Explain how they contribute to the culture of the organisation.
c) Trends and challenges: Identify the trends and challenges that influenced the initiative.
Illustrate with relevant supporting data.
d) The people: Describe the responsibilities of employees in meeting the challenges and
contributing to the success of the initiative. Highlight the benefits for the employees in
achieving a successful outcome.
e) Leadership: Outline the actions the leadership team can take in supporting and guiding
employees to actively contribute to the success of the initiative.

Create your infographic
1. Your infographic should tell a story through a balanced combination of information and
data.
2. Explore a variety of infographic templates to become familiar with this style of
communication. The following websites are recommended as they provide free access to a
range of business-style templates:

b. www.canva.com
3. For guidance, please refer to the video guide in the Torrens Academic Skills Unit.

5. Use descriptive headings to signpost sections. Refrain from using guiding questions as
headings.
6. Text should be presented in a combination of dot points and brief sentences.
Use data to support and visualise your information e.g. charts, diagrams and processes that
complement the text.
Research and Referencing Requirements
1) You are required to incorporate academic references into your responses in order to
produce well-supported work. This will help to demonstrate your critical thinking skills as
well as knowledge and understanding of the topic. Choose four (4) or more references from
the Resources sections in Modules 1-4 and cite them using current APA referencing. Page
numbers are to be included in all citations.
2) The reference list is to be included at the end of the infographic or submitted in a separate
Word document.

It is essential that you use current APA style for citing and referencing the sources that you use. Page
numbers are to be included in all citations.

Submit this task in PDF and Word document via the Assessments link in the main navigation menu in
MGT202 Developing People and Culture.

2. You must also include an appendix (after your references) with all the AI prompts and
responses you used for your assessment.

Special Consideration
